By Express Tribune LAHORE: As the world moves closer to adopting digital economy, the business community of Pakistan has started feeling the absence of e-commerce payment gateways in Pakistan. The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has started demanding government authorities to bring global e-commerce payment gateways in Pakistan, as this mode of business will replace the traditional business methods and transaction in coming years. “Government should direct concerned authorities including the State Bank of Pakistan, Ministry of Information Technology and others to strive for bringing e-commerce payment gateways like PayPal, Google pay, Samsung pay, Ali-pay to Pakistan for necessary promotion of exports and business in international arena,” said SCCI President Majid Raza Bhutta. For Bhutta, electronic commerce offers unprecedented opportunities to both developing and developed countries; the advancement of technology has aided international business and has impa...

Seabin Project: Dream nears reality for WA surfers fighting to cut ocean pollution

By mobile.abc.net.au A unique Australian invention aimed at reducing marine pollution is set to be made available in up to 17 countries next year, with a prototype undergoing final trials in luxury European marinas. Best mates and surfers Andrew Turton and Pete Ceglinski came up with the unique ocean-cleaning device, dubbed the "Seabin", after becoming frustrated at the amount of rubbish floating around. The Perth pair quit their jobs to find a sustainable solution, eventually designing an automated rubbish bin with a pump for marina docks. With the help of a successful crowdfunding campaign and willing WA seed investors, and with the Seabin becoming a viral sensation, they took a prototype to market in Mallorca in Spain, a marina capital of Europe, earlier this year. Mr Ceglinski said there had since been huge interest from cities and corporate companies around the world who had seen a pilot project at La Grande-Motte in France. "[With] the amount of inte...

Will expose who made Rs10b offer in court: Imran Khan

By Express Tribune ISLAMABAD: Welcoming Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s challenge to file a defamation suit, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan publicly said he would reveal the names of the individuals who offered him Rs10 billion on behalf of the Sharif family to back off from the Panamagate case only in court. He was addressing a public gathering at the Parade Ground on Friday. Workers who converged at the Parade Ground came from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, who according to political analysts and newsmen, were well above 30,000. While reiterating his stance that Premier Nawaz has lost moral authority to further rule the country, Khan asked the citizens to boycott him socially for refusing to step down after a clear-cut judgment against him in the Panamagate case. These are the sports that burn the most calories

By Bussiness Insider To watch video go to http://www.businessinsider.com/sports-burn-most-calories-running-tennis-soccer-taekwondo-flag-football-basketball-athlete-exercise-2017-4 Sports are a great way to get in some exercise. And while burning calories isn't the only measure of an exercise's value, the number can tell you something about how hard you're working your body. The important caveat here is that exercising on its own actually doesn't do much to make you lose weight. Sports get your heart going, which can help you live longer. But if you want to slim down, we suggest talking to a doctor about what a healthy weight is for you and working on cutting sugar and large portions out of your diet. Still, keeping track of calories burned per hour is a good measure of how intense a particular exercise is. The Mayo Clinic, drawing on research published by the National Institutes of Health, lists 36 popular forms of exercise by their caloric impacts. We've orde...

'PTI’s Karachi rally will be a game changer'

By Tribune.pk I know this is the 456th time Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called the masses to the streets for a rally, but this time Imran Khan is serious. All those things he promised the nation four years ago will come true if this rally is successful. This is finally the rally that will make it all worthwhile. Being a PTI supporter is like being an old lady sitting at the slots machine at a casino in Las Vegas – either it will end when you will win the jackpot, or you will die in wait. Either way, you are hoping for the misery to end but till that sweet relief comes you keep putting in more money in the machine because you think: I have already invested so much, what’s another rally? This rally is when all my investment will come to fruition. PTI’s ‘Huqooq-e-Karachi March’ on April 30 is different from all other rallies ever held by the party. It is about the same issues PTI has complained about for last several years but has done nothing about them in the province they are...

This Guy Just Made a Gun That Fires Nerf Darts at Twice the Speed of Sound

By tribunist.com Nerf guns were created so it was completely possible to shoot your friends and relatives in the most enjoyable and painless way possible. Sure, getting shot by a Nerf toy gets marginally irritating if it keeps happening and you don’t actually want to take part, but it was never super-painful. Until now… Toy manufacturers want to avoid lawsuits so they limit the power that products such as those created by Nerf have. It might not particularly tickle when you get hit by a Nerf dart, especially at close range or in in certain sensitive areas, however, you more than likely won’t find yourself writhing on the ground in agony. A YouTube user by the name of Giaco Whatever struggled to see the fun in that concept and decided to knock things up a notch. Giaco Whatever, who posts videos under the tagline “I make things,” has found a way to make Nerf darts deadly and has posted several videos of his results online. Using an air-powered cannon packing 400 PSI of pressure, ...

The Robotic Future?

By techspot.com Of all the futuristic technologies that seem closer to becoming mainstream each day, robotics is the one that is likely to elicit both the strongest and widest range of reactions. It’s not terribly surprising if you really think about it. After all, robots in various forms offer the potential for both the most glorious beneficence and the most insidious evil. From performing superhuman feats to the complete destruction of the human race, it’s hard to imagine a technology that could have a more wide-ranging impact. Of course, the practical reality of today’s robots is far from either of these extremes. Instead, they’re primarily focused on freeing our lives and our businesses of the drudgery of mundane tasks. Whether it’s automatically sweeping our floors or rapidly piecing together elements on an assembly line, the robots of today are laser-focused on the practical. Still, whenever most people think about robots in any form, I’m guessing visions of dystopian robot ...

What Would Happen If An Ant Falls From A Skyscraper? Physics Has the answer.

By wonderfulengineiering.com What Would Happen If An Ant Falls From A Skyscraper? Physics Has the answer. Insects are generally not afraid of heights, and they have science to thank for it. Let us put your mind to rest by a simple explanation of how and why. You must have heard about the square-cube Law. Say a human has been increased to double of his original size, then the structural strength (muscles and bones) increase by 4 times, the reason being that his strength relies on his cross-sectional area. Whereas the volume is the derivative of mass, which will increase once the cube is taken. This will increase the weight by 8 times. If this scaling process is reversed, say a human was 6 ft tall and is now somehow made to shrink to 3ft tall, then the structural strength will reduce to a quarter along with a decrease of mass by 1/8 times. And if this tiny creature is falling from a significant height, here are the factors we need to consider in order to imagine its fate. We kno...

By theguardian.com More than half of young people watch illegal streams of live sports, study finds • 54% of ‘millennials’ take advantage of piracy to watch events • Sport Industry Group survey also shows fewer young people pay for TV The scale of the challenge facing sports broadcasters in combating piracy has been made clear in figures that show more than half of young people watch illegal streams of live events. Research into the viewing habits of “millennials”, those aged between 18 and 24, has found piracy has become normalised among this generation while the take-up for traditional subscription services is far less than among older viewers. The figures, which are likely to only confirm suspicions that viewing habits among younger people have changed dramatically from their parents’ generation, were compiled in a study of 1,500 people, 1,000 of whom were millennials, according to research by SMG Insight commissioned by the BT Sport Industry Awards. China provided $1.2bn in loans to bail out Pakistan: report

By Geo.tv ISLAMABAD: China helped Pakistan stave off a currency crisis by providing over $1.2 billion in loans during the past one year, the Financial Times claimed in a report on Tuesday. According to the publication’s sources, state-backed Chinese banks have twice come to Pakistan’s rescue of Pakistan with $900m in 2016 and $300m in 2017’s first quarter. Pakistan’s stocks of foreign currency remained saw volatile activity due to rising imports and a parallel fall in exports and remittances in the recent months. The financial help extended from Pakistan’s close neighbour is indicative of increasingly close ties between the two countries at a time when the relationship between Pakistan and the US remains strained. “Beijing is preparing to invest at least $52bn in Pakistan to build a highway, energy pipelines, power generation facilities and industrial parks from the western port of Gwadar on the Gulf to the Chinese border to the north,” the Financial Times reported. In an interview with foreman Faisal Razza and his group of farm workers, Al Jazeera found that the nature of their is seasonal. This means they don’t stay in one place too long. They also live in substandard conditions. They cook lunch, not on a cooker but by lighting a fire in a metal drum and cooking the chapati directly on it. Amir Ali, 25, from Gujrat, Pakistan tries to find humour in the situation. “This is like 19th century cooking. In Pakistan we don’t live like this, we’d use gas cookers.” An estimated 90 per cent of Greece’s agriculture wage labourers are migrants. When they arrive in the country without money or a legal status, this is their only option. Adnan Ahmad, 20, has worked for Razza for three months.
